Jenn & Kim • wedding {part 1}

Well, this wedding was definitely a first for me!  My first same sex wedding!  Yay!!!  And for those of you who have no experience with same sex weddings, they are not really much different from, well, opposite sex weddings.  There's still the same happiness, love, adoration, romance, laughter and tears of joy that you would find at any other wedding.  The emotion is as pure and genuine here as it is anywhere.   And Jenn and Kim are no different.

Jenn is the sister of my good friend Shannon, so of course I was honored to be asked to shoot her wedding.  And being my first same sex wedding (did I mention that already?), I was completely intrigued by the whole concept of it all.  My initial thoughts were probably the same as most: will this be different than the weddings I have shot before?  Will I need to change my approach to how I shoot weddings?  And frankly, the answer is a resounding NO! All the elements are exactly the same, with the exception of the apparently absent groom, in my case.  And for Jenn and Kim, there was no missing of any groom to be had!  : )

They had an amazingly beautiful day last fall with mild weather and blue skies...a perfect New England day!

These are Jenn's kids from her first marriage, Hannah and Austin.

I love this next sequence of images....

This is the adorable Macie!  (My friend Shannon's daughter)

I love this of Kim and her brothers too!

Flower girl, Layla....also Shannon's daughter!

Stay tuned for Jenn and Kim's reception at the Worcester Art Museum!
