Lindsay & Zack • wedding {part 1}

Lindsay and Zack's wedding last fall was one of those "rain one minute, none the next" days.  On and off rain can be a very precarious situation because it's hard to anticipate your next move.  Outside or inside?  But hey, it's better than a total washout, right?  In any case, I was recommended to Lindsay's mom Alyne by my aunt...yet again!  (She and Alyne are very good friends.) You may remember my mention of her (my aunt) from Kerri and Brian's wedding recently.  Seriously, I think she needs to be my promotions executive, or something like that.  Need a job, Auntie Annie???

Lindsay is from a big family -- she has SIX brothers -- so what seemed like a little bit of chaos to me during getting ready was actually quite normal for her and her family. And we're talking all those men, lots of bridesmaids, a few adorable little kids thrown in the mix, and a couple of photographers, and you've got --- NORMAL?  OK, if they say so!

This detail of Linsay's dress is so pretty and sparkly!  Gotta love the sparkle!!

Here is Lindsay getting her makeup done by my sister Michelle, who is a fabulous makeup artist.  So if you ever want to look extra special pretty on your wedding day, give me a shout out!  I will hook you up!!

Linsday's neice and adorable flower girl Riley

A little bubbly, anyone??

Ethereal, right?

Lots of pre-ceremony primping going on here....

Here's Zack waiting for the ceremony to begin....

Summer Dreams

All this rain...all this dreadful basement flooding, traffic jamming, sun depriving rain we have been having has got me to thinking about how very much I want me some good ol' summertime!!!  So here's a little inspiration for all you drowned New Englanders like me:

Bring on the warmth and the sun!!!  (PLEEEEEEASE!!!!!)

Down time

With the upcoming wedding season quickly approaching, I was inspired to reflect on some of the things that inspire me during the "off season."  Well, it goes without saying that my girls are obviously a source of  great inspiration for me.  That's evident, right?  :)   So other than that, I have been intrigued by rustic-looking structures and buildings, which isn't exactly anything new for most photographers, but it's completely opposite to what I am used to shooting during the wedding season.  However, part of my goal this year is to parallel these worlds!  I am on the hunt for opposing textures and imagery during this wedding season, and hope that they will mingle seamlessly!

Anyway, here are some examples of my rustic inspiration:

I love the door on this structure, which, I think is an old chicken barn near my house.  (So my husband Matt says.)  Yup, I kind of live in the sticks.

Ok, so I know this is a bird house, but definitely has that rustic feel going, right?

And I just love the look and texture of this tree.....

Michelle and Tim's wedding last summer illustrates perfectly my goals to combine the texture and shape of rustic imagery with the sophistication of wedding imagery.

Quality Time

March.  New England.  Spring time?  Not quite.  Warm?  Maybe.  If we are lucky.

Ok, so that said, taking the time to get outside with your kids (or whomever!) in March in New England is a most valuable and precious thing!  I think anyone who has been cooped up here all winter can attest to that, right?  Whether it is just scouring your back yard for fallen pine cones, blowing endless amounts of bubbles, or just revelling in the warm, inviting sun that you have so missed all winter, it's...hmmm, IT'S ALL GOOD.  Anyway, just wanted to share a few images of my girls enjoying some warm(ish) weather!

Avery's eye lashes are killer!  I'm a little jealous.

Is this not the face of an angel?? Ok, a little mischievous angel, but an angel nonetheless  : )

Here's my sweet Olivia, who just turned 5 this week!!

This picture cracks me up.  I can't tell if she's being "fierce" (Tyra style) or if she's in pain.  Probably pained by her annoying mother who keeps sticking that camera in her face!

You've gotta love those rare warm day opportunities.  They come and go too quickly and just don't last long enough if you ask me.  Tell me again why I don't live in Florida?
