Lisa and Arun's Central Park engagement session

Lisa and Arun are getting married in New York City this October, so having their engagement shoot here was pretty important to them.  Plus, Lisa's parents also had their very own engagement session in Central Park too, so while important, it was also sentimental.  I was really excited to be shooting in the city!  I had never been to Central Park depsite many trips to NYC in my college days!  We warmed up with some classic portraits.....

We spotted this amazing trellis and, even though lots of City Parkers were walking through, I thought it would be a perfect backdrop for photos!

Lisa and Arun are so genuinely sweet to each other.....and they laugh a lot too!

We wanted to get a shot with the city in the background.....proof we were actually there!

Thank you, Lisa and Arun!  Looking forward to shooting your wedding this fall!

Rainy Day Promise

As a former bride, I know how important it is to some to have blue skies and warm sun on your wedding day.  That, however, did not happen for me.  It poured all morning, yet I was optimistic.  The ceremony's not until 3:00, I was thinking.  It will clear up by then; I'm sure of it, I thought.  Well, it didn't.  It rained during the ceremony, the formals, and right up until the reception began.  So, lucky for me, I happened to get a few fun images with my husband and I outside for a brief and fleeting moment!  But that doesn't always happen, and sometimes it rains ALL DAY.  My promise to you is that I will offer a free post wedding session with you and your new wife/hubby if you get rained out!

On a side note, while it did rain on the day I got married, I honestly did not let the weather affect my attitude for the day.  We all know that the weather in New England is wholly unpredictable, and if you get rain, you get rain, and you deal.  And trust me, you can still be happy!  Umbrella pictures are super fun!  The rain's affect on the weather can lead to dramatic, moody photos too, so never let that pesky weather get you down!  It's still your wedding day, and it will be amazing and fun and joyous no matter what the weather brings!

And just because a post is always better with a picture (or three)......

A Look Back

Ok, so I definitely neglected the bloggity this week, and yet still I sit here thinking about what I can post today.  Must be a slow week.  So I decided to post a couple of my favorite pics of my girls from a couple of years ago.  They say a post is always better with a picture, so it's got to be doubly better with two pics, and even better yet with a couple of super cuties in the pics, right??

Here's my Livvie, age 3.....

......and Avery, 1 1/2

BTW, these pics were taken with my point and shoot.  Not bad, huh??
