Cystic Fibrosis Photography Event - the goods!

As mentioned previously, the CF Event was a great success, as many families came out and braved the potentially rainy weather.  Anything for a good cause, right?  I had the pleasure of shooting five of those families, and also arrived a little early so Kelly Meyer and I could exchanged family portraits!  Kelly and her husband Wes have two adorable, energetic daughters, Madison and Brooke.  Here are a few shots of her family....

This shot just makes me giggle!

Beautiful family!

I snuck a few of my own family too....you know, because I don't have enough of them!  ;)

Olivia and Avery were enchanted with this swan!

They dubbed him, "Swanny."

Annika

Jake

sisters Katherine and Charlotte

Jack

newly engaged Heather and Jim

And last but not least, photographers Kelly and Seth and our favorite tree

Seth wanted some alone time with the tree....

Thanks again to everyone who came to support this great event!

Thank you!

Just a quick shout out to everyone who made it to the Cystic Fibrosis photography event yesterday.  The weather was questionable, but the event went off without a hitch! A special thanks to Kelly Meyer of KM Photography for putting the event together, and also to Seth Jacobson for sharing his talents as well!  We took lots of great portraits - babies, families, engagements, and even triplets!!  Whew!  That was Kelly's shoot, and let's just say, she had her work cut out for her!  But she rocked it!  Photos to come soon!  Thanks again to all for supporting a great cause!

Here's a couple of pics of Kelly and Seth at the event.....

Many thanks again to all who attended!

An Engagement in the Fam!

My sister (stepsister, technically, but she's been around for so long that it actually feels like we are related by blood!) just recently got engaged, and I can't help but to be the biggest buttinski when it comes to making suggestion after suggestion after suggestion for her wedding!!  Hmm, the feeling the word "buttinski" evokes is not exactly what I am going for here, but you get my point.  Valuable resource, maybe?  Anyway, I am completely living vicariously through her as she embarks on the  most daunting of tasks -- wedding planning!  It's one of those things that you love to do, but you also feel like it becomes a part time (or sometimes full time!) job in the process.  Appointments for florists and venues and music and, wait for it, wait for it......photographers!  Ok, so as much as I love love love shooting weddings, especially for people I know, I love love love being a guest at weddings too!!!  And let's just say it is a rare occasion for me to be a guest, so when the opportunity arises, I jump on it!  So instead of being the photographer for her wedding, I am going to be that annoying guest with the camera!  Haha.  Don't worry though.  I know my boundaries.  I wouldn't want to become that person that I mumble about under my breath when I am shooting weddings!  Besides, this leaves me with the ability to take the images I love to take without all the added pressure of making sure I "got the shot."  This way, I get to take the shot I want with a more relaxed approach, and it's just an added bonus for her to have some extra images for her wedding proof collection!  Win, win as I see it.

Here are three sisters trying to be as cool as their teenage counterparts (neices or daughers, depending who you are).  Not quite cutting it.......

Anyway, I am so excited for Briana and John and the amazing journey they are about to embark upon, beginning with the oh so important planning stage.  I can't wait to be the ever present annoying guest with a camera at your wedding!!  ;)

Cystic Fibrosis Photography Event schedule change!

Well, there you have it, the need for a rain date.  It's kind of an irritating pattern happening around here.  This Saturday's forecast is looking pretty bleak (read, lots o' rain), so we are going to have to move the Cystic Fibrosis Event to Sunday the 18th.  Same time, same place, different day.  No worries, right?  Kelly from KMPhotography will call or email you to confirm your pre-scheduled appointment, and hey, for those of you couldn't make it on Saturday, maybe you can make it on Sunday, and support a great cause!  Hope to see you there!!!

Bald Head Island, anyone?

Ok, so many of you are thinking, what the heck is Bald Head Island?  Or more specifically, where the heck is Bald Head Island?  Well, it's this amazing undiscovered place off the coast of North Carolina where your only mode of transportation is golf cart, there are miles and miles of tranquil, uncrowded beaches, and the highlight of your day  is going for ice cream with your kids after you've spent hours and hours soaking up the sun.  Ah.  Bald Head Island. Now that's my idea of a good vacation.  BUT......it is also a fan-tabulous place to have a destination wedding!!!  Now, as you know, I am a born and bred southern New England girl and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my home!!  Newport, RI couldn't be a better place to host your wedding.  That being said, Bald Head Island offers so much of that beachy, summery vibe that a lot of the southern New England brides strive for.  But add a few charming golf carts, shoreline as far as the eye can see, an amazing historic lighthouse, and roll it up into a mini-vacation, and you have got a destination wedding to be reckoned with, my friend!  Oh, and I am totally game to shoot your wedding there!!!  (We've got some prime real estate "on island" (as they say), so you wouldn't even have to put me up!)

If you are considering a destination wedding, Bald Head Island should definitely be on your list of contenders.

The natural beauty, tranqulity and charm of this island is definitely a dream setting for a wedding!

Easter!

Here's a couple of quick pictures I took of my girls on Easter!  They are getting so big....I can't stand it!  Thank goodness for my camera's ability to freeze them in time.  What would we do without photographs?

It was so warm this Easter...about 20 degrees warmer than last year! My kind of weather!

My nephew Dante getting into trouble!

I love this moment of my neice Madison, catching me taking her picture....

Happy Easter!
